MUG ONE

MUGONE officer’s meeting at Ruffino’s on Feb. 12, 2009

Present: Elsa, Terry, Mark, Brian

Elsa passed out MacWorld pens and notebooks for us all to keep our notes in. Good Idea, Elsa!

Agenda:

1. Discuss where MUGONE will hold it’s meetings in the future. 
2. Delegate general tasks for each MUG ONE office. Make a roadmap for follow-through. 
3. Assign specific tasks for each officer for before the next meeting. 
4. Decide what to present at the next meetings
5. DIscuss possible topics for future meetings

1) Discuss where MUG ONE will hold it’s meetings in the future. There are insurance problems with S.U.C.O., and they have been very patient, but we may have to change venues. Some were discussed, and Elsa will be point-woman to check them out. We considered postponing the March meeting in the event that we can’t get a venue by then. We also discussed the possibility of finding a local restaurant or cafe where we can hold a informal meeting once a year. No tech stuff. 

2) General tasks for each MUG ONE office. (Make a roadmap for follow-through.)

•  It’s the job of the Program Co-chairs (Brian and Sven) to come up with programs, and find people to present to the group.
• We should have a template for presenters. Maybe we could put one up on wikihow.com

3) Specific tasks for each officer for before the next meeting

Elsa’s assignment for the coming week:

• Find a venue for next month’s meeting. 
• Elsa will add Terry as Yahoo Group administrator.

Terry’s assignment for the coming week:

• AsYahoo Group administrator, can automatically send invitations to join the Group when people join MUGONE.

Mark’s assignment for the coming week:

• Create a blurb about his upcoming segment (Preview?) and send it to Brian. 

Brian’s assignment for the coming week:

• Get a title for next month’s presentation, and write a blurb for my segment. 
• Look into where we could have an informal meeting once a year. Maybe in June. 
• Talk to Edison Electronics guy about maybe giving a talk about recycling computers. 
• FInd the members list. If I can’t, I’ll e-mail Elsa for a re-send. (Done -Elsa pre-empted me and resent it already.)
• Put out a publicity release for March’s meeting
• Get a g-mail account for mugone for the laptop for future presentations
• Try to find a secure online solution for the membership list and how best to manage it between the officers who need access to it, which does not necessitate broadband

4) What to present at the next meetings:
For the March Meeting:

• Mark will do 10 minutes on “Mark’s Gems,” (or some such title). Probably on Preview. 
• Brian covers Facebook and Classmates
• Elsa will present E-Readers
•  Brian should mention to the group that we are looking for presenters. Also, try to find someone who does E-bay. 

For the April meeting:(tentative)

• E-Bay
• Yearly swap-meet
• How to make a frictionless roadmap (Wikihow?)
• Keychain
• iGoogle, google pages, docs, etc. Pimp my google. 
• Freecycle, Craig’s list, etc. 
• Local Websites?
